Choosing a Fortnite PC for a 144Hz monitor
Compare resolution, rendering modes and frame consistency, and know what to request in a Fortnite test.

144Hz describes the display, not a guaranteed frame rate
A 144Hz display can refresh 144 times per second. The PC’s delivered frame rate changes with its components, resolution, settings, scene and game updates. A build or GPU name is not a guarantee of 144 FPS.
Choose your balance of competitive play and image quality
Epic documents Performance Mode as an option in Fortnite’s PC graphics settings. Decide whether you want that mode or richer graphics, then keep resolution and upscaling settings the same across comparisons. A low-settings result and an Epic-settings result are not equivalent evidence.
Ask for a comparable test
Request the CPU, GPU and RAM configuration; resolution; rendering mode; quality preset; upscaling and frame-generation status; game version; and test date. Ask for average FPS, a 1% low result with its calculation method, and a gameplay sample. Frame consistency in busy scenes matters alongside the average.
Check the complete setup
Check that your display and cable support the intended resolution and refresh rate, then select the correct refresh rate in your system settings. If frame rates are low, begin with Epic’s official troubleshooting and confirm the game uses the dedicated GPU. Change one setting at a time when diagnosing the cause.
